Today I launch the first (proper) design of this site; I hope you like it. I say proper as there’s been a couple of other ‘designs’ of this site before, but none of them thought out, planned, lovingly crafted, and what have you. As I’ve recently graduated from my Graphic Design diploma, I thought it was high time to create a style for myself, and to actually start blogging.
Most navigation these days suffers from using fixed width images, making it hard to scale with text size. Alternatively, flowing tabs are created using a number of non-semantic divs. This article will reveal how to create a semantic, scale-able, sexy set of tabs, ready for any use.
Microformats add a lot of code; but they don’t have to. Through some clever use of elements that are around anyway, you can clear up on those extra div’s, and by knowing your specs you can do away with some elements of a microformat altogether.
